Minnie the Minx
Minnie the Minx is a counterpart to Dennis the Menace (alongside Beryl the Peril), and sports the same horizontal black and red stripey jumper to prove it. She is described as having the "ferocity and strength of an Amazon warrior". Minnie has been appearing in the Beano since the issue dated 19 December, 1953. She was created by artist Leo Baxendale who was also responsible for the Bash Street Kids. Jim Petrie took over in June 1961 and carried on for 40 years.
